Straits Lodge

We love staying at Mission Point. The employee are always so sweet and include our son who is three. They make you welcome and part of the family. We will be coming back again.

This is our favorite hotel/resort. We like the beautiful grounds filled with flowers, beach front park and restaurant, friendly staff and excellent service. Food is delicious but pricey. Their coffee shops are actually better than Starbucks. Mission Point also has bike rentals available on site which is very convenient. Just make sure you're renting the new bikes. We got stuck with old bikes because they were the only ones available. We had problems with shifting gears and the front brake broke on one of them. We were told by the bike shop supervisor they will retire the old bikes next year. We'll definitely be coming back here always as we have been doing for 20 years.

Very nice auxiliary building for Mission Point with an amazing Great Room in the middle of the first floor. Excellent for rainy day reading and after dinner games. Excellent coffee/ pastries available on the first floor of the building for early morning grab-and-go. Rooms are smallish ( ie. We didn’t have a table / or desk to sit at) and we struggled a little with the noise level of the room based air conditioner.

Mission Point is the best family-friendly hotel on Mackinac Island. It has spacious suite rooms, plenty of property to explore, fabulous views of the water, a variety of recreational activities including a pool and miniature golf. The sunrise hike is complimentary for guests and takes a route up to Robinson's Folly. The addition of the Round Island restaurant makes it easy to eat onsite with attentive staff and a variety of choices. Do a puzzle or read a book in the largest family room/lobby on the island. These accommodations can't be beat!

We stayed at the Straits Lodge portion of Mission Point. The rooms were fairly large for the island. Room was clean and well decorated. The bathroom was a bit dated. There is a large common area downstairs. Dogs are welcome. Lake views from the top floor rooms. Decently quiet.

We stayed at the Mission Point Resort in the Straits lodge section. I loved the decor, the atmosphere and the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. My favorite things were the glass coffee cups in the room, not Styrofoam, the amenities that were provided such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion, iron, ironing board and a hair dryer. These made my packing a lot less!! It was very clean and inviting. There is a lot to do on the resort, putt putt (they have glow golf at night), salon and spa, theater, gameroom, kids club (12 and younger), pool and Jacuzzis. Several restaurants are on site and some shops.

We've stayed here a few times. While it is an older set of buildings (old school), they have done a nice job updating it. I must say I was pleasantly surprised that we had housekeeping service every day. Yay! It's not a "normal" thing these days. Staff are very friendly and work hard. I do recommend Mission Point if you plan to stay on the "Island".

This lodge is old, but kept up. The water is hot very quickly and the beds are comfortable. The service is excellent. It's affordable compared to the rest of the island. And the front desk is always so helpful. They take care of your luggage to and from Shepler's Ferry. And they have a shuttle service for $8.50 cash per adult to and from Shepler's. The windows are pretty small and not every room has a pretty view. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
